These gold-standard tests provide precise insight into aerobic fitness, training zones, and energy metabolism, helping you train smarter and improve performance.

I’m Irene, an ultra-trail runner with a strong background in and love by human physiology. I’m a qualified UESCA running and ultramarathon coach, a registered sports therapist, and hold a PhD in Biomedicine and an MSc in Sport and Exercise Science and Medicine.

My coaching focuses on training smart and efficiently, with personalised plans adapted to each athlete’s needs. I also place strong emphasis on mindset, as mental preparation is just as important as physical training. If you’re returning from injury, I can support your recovery and guide you back to running safely.

​I also specialise in women’s health and endurance performance. During my MSc, I led research investigating how the menstrual cycle influences performance in female ultra-endurance runners, exploring energy use, nervous system regulation, and training adaptation across the cycle.​This understanding allows me to design safe, effective, and evidence-based training strategies for female runners and ultrarunners.​​
